The maturation of blackberries

Blackberries. They are white before they are black; they pass through several stages of maturation.

Each blackberry evolves from white/off white small berry as it changes color to light green, pale yellow, pink, to deep red and eventually what you pick up in the stores as the delicious black blackberries!

As you can see through this exhibit, each bunch may contain all the various stages of maturation.

This is a photographic excursion of the process of development of a popular and healthy food item as seen on wild berry  trees along the shores of lake Carter in the City of Carter Lake Iowa just outside Omaha Nebraska USA.

These photographs were shot with a Canon EOS R5 with Canon Macro Lens EF 100mm 1:2.8 L IS USM

Photos were processed on Adobe Photoshop Lightroom Lr.
